Florianópolis, the stunning capital of Santa Catarina, is known for its paradisiacal beaches and relaxing atmosphere. However, there is so much more to explore beyond the stunning coastline. For nature and adventure lovers, we propose an exciting journey through the “Mirantes Circuit in Greater Florianópolis“. In just two days, you will have the opportunity to witness some of the most spectacular views the region has to offer. Get ready to be amazed by breathtaking landscapes!
Day 1: Be enchanted by the viewpoints on Santa Catarina Island!
We will start our circuit with a visit to the viewpoints of Florianópolis. Prepare your camera and your adventurous spirit, because an unforgettable experience is about to begin.
Our first destination is Morro da Cruz, a sacred site that offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the island and the mainland. From the top, you will have a panoramic view of the stunning North and South Bays, highlighting iconic points such as the White Rock (Saint Joseph), the Cambirela Hill (Palhoça), the Pico do Tabuleiro (Santo Amaro da Imperatriz) and the region of São Migue Spal (Biguaçu).

We leave towards the Viewpoint of the Ruins of Bateria de São Caetano, a historic site that offers an impressive panoramic view. The Battery was a defensive complement to the Fortress of Sao Jose da Ponta Grossa, in the north of Florianópolis.
From there it is possible to have a panoramic view of Praia de Jurerê, the region of Governador Celso Ramos and, in the distance, Arvoredo Island and the Bombinhas peninsula.

Then we will leave for the Brava Beach Viewpoint, where we will be presented with a stunning view of the ocean and the coast, with its majestic high-end condominiums. Feel the sea breeze caress your face as you admire the contrast between nature and the sophistication of the resort and, perhaps, follow the flight of the paragliders as they jump from the free flight ramp, to the right.

Continuing our journey, we will head to the Praia Mole Viewpoint. Get ready for a spectacular view of this immensity of green and blue. Take the moment to capture incredible photographs and absorb the unique energy of this place.
From the top of the Mirante there is a panoramic view of Lagoa da Conceição, part of Barra da Lagoa, Dunas da Joaquina, Costa da Lagoa and Centrinho da Lagoa.
Then we will visit the Morro da Lagoa da Conceição, the famous viewpoint, at the beginning of the Serra das 8 Curvas, which offers the most famous and talked about panoramic view of the famous Conceição Lagoon. You will be treated to a stunning view of the calm waters of the lagoon, the Joaquina dunes in the background, part of the Campeche Island, on the right, all surrounded by lush hills covered by the Atlantic Forest.

Following our trip to the south of the island, it is worth stopping for a delicious lunch at the restaurant Shiva Vegan Kitchen, there you will find a vegan, diverse and creative menu, offering options for all palates.
After enjoying a delicious lunch, the next stop is the Morro das Pedras, cited by many as “a heaven on earth”. In the south of the Island, it is a place that provides a privileged view of the sea and the coastal landscape. Watch the waves hitting the rocks and let yourself be enchanted by the immensity of the ocean.

From this viewpoint we become aware of the immensity and strength of nature. On the left you can see Praia do Morro das Pedras, further ahead the Island of Campeche, on the right the Armação Beach and at the end of the beach, Ponta das Campanhas.
Almost finishing the first day, we continue the trip through the south of the island and go to Sertão do Ribeirão, where we will find a viewpoint that provides a privileged view of the coast Ribeirão da Ilha, of Cambirela Hill (Palhoça) and the White Rock (San José). Enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings and marvel at an unforgettable sunset.

Our tip, after this incredible tour is a stop at Krone Café & Bakery, a wonderful space, in the center of the parish of Ribeirão da Ilha, specializing in German cuisine, from breads and sweets, to coffee, lunch or dinner.
And, as a highlight of the circuit, we will end the first day at Hercílio Luz Bridge Lookout. This historic landmark is an icon of the city and offers a spectacular view of Brazil's most famous suspension bridge. Witness the lights come on under the stars as you gaze at the architectural beauty of this imposing structure.

Day 2: “Top” viewpoints in Greater Florianópolis
On the second day of the circuit, we will explore the charms of Floripa and its surroundings, where spectacular viewpoints await to captivate your senses.
We will begin our journey with a visit to the viewpoints of Palmeiras Beach, at the end of a long wooden deck that ends in a staircase. This staircase takes you to a viewpoint where you can enjoy panoramic views of the sea, the Pedras de Itaguaçu and in the background, the hills of Serra do Tabuleiro State Park, with emphasis on the imposing Cambirela Hill.

Then we will move on to the Morro do Queimado, an incredible attraction located in the territory of Serra do Tabuleiro State Park, in the municipality of Santo Amaro da Imperatriz. At 694m high, the top offers a spectacular panoramic view of Greater Florianópolis.

In addition to being highly sought after by nature lovers and “photo hunters”, the place is one of the best and busiest destinations for hang gliding athletes.
Continuing our adventure, we will reach the Lookout Rio Salto, where we will be graced with a magnificent view of the stunning Rio do Salto Waterfall, which majestically meanders between the mountains. Located on the banks of the SC-435 road, on the border between Águas Mornas and São Bonifácio, Mirante Rio Salto is the perfect place to take a peaceful break and contemplate the lush landscape that unfolds before our eyes.
The trip to the viewpoint is wonderful, the road winds through the hills surrounding the Serra do Tabuleiro State Park and is often used by groups of motorcyclists. Enjoy your trip to this region and delight in the gastronomy of the famous Hawerroth Restaurant, located in the territory of the municipality of São Bonifácio, 9.2km after the viewpoint.

And to end our journey with a flourish, we will arrive at Viewpoint of Serra da Boa Vista. Located on the banks of BR282, in Rancho Queimado and with altitudes that exceed 1,200 meters, this is a perfect place for nature lovers and for those who wish to connect with hours of contemplation in front of the valleys and mountains that make up the stunning relief of the region.

Route: Day 01. 145km and Day 02. 156km (one way), plus 58km (Rancho Queimado – Floripa)
Visiting hours: Although there is no control over visitation, in most viewpoints, it is suggested to visit the viewpoints between dawn and sunset.
Access: All viewpoints can be accessed with recreational vehicles and/or motorcycles. Access with 4X4 vehicles is not necessary.
