Church of Saint Boniface

About the attraction

Located in the beautiful city of Rancho Queimado, approximately 65 km from Florianópolis, the Church of Saint Boniface It was originally built by the then governor Hercílio Pedro da Luz, on his farm, at the request of his first wife.

Nowadays, the Church of São Bonifácio is a treasure of the Catholic community of Taquaras, revering São Bonifácio as its patron saint. This sacred place, full of faith and devotion, houses the tombstone of Maria Amida Kammers in its cemetery. The murdered young woman, whose name is associated with miracles, inspired fervent devotion in many hearts.
