Mole Beach

Florianópolis, the famous “Magic Island”, is home to some of the most incredible beaches in Brazil, and the Mole Beach It’s one of the crown jewels.

Located in the Lagoa da Conceição District, this stunning beach stretches for 960 meters, from the northern shore of Ponta do Gravatá to Ponta do Meio, a peninsula famous for its stunning views.

The name of the beach is somewhat curious – “Praia Mole” – and refers to the texture of the sand, which is soft and almost unstable when stepped on. But don't let the name fool you, because this beach is a true paradise for surf lovers, with strong, long waves that attract surfers from all over the world.

In addition to the waves, Praia Mole is known for its crystal clear and clean waters, and the sand is fine and full-bodied with larger grains, which gives it unique mobility. The beach also offers excellent tourist infrastructure, with hotels, bars and restaurants, as well as a lively music festival scene that attracts a young and happy audience.

To get to Praia Mole, simply follow Highway SC406, from the city center of Florianópolis, a distance of around 15.5km. The beach is one of the main tourist attractions in the region, offering visitors a unique and unforgettable experience.

If you are looking for a breathtaking beach in Florianópolis, Praia Mole is definitely one that should be on your visit list. And when you come, also visit the Ponta do Gravatá, on the south corner of the beach. Access is via a trail, about 30 minutes long, that starts on the side of the highway.

Tip: This beach is in the open sea and has strong waves, so it is not recommended for those with children.
