And now, with mild weather prevailing, is the perfect time to explore the spectacular trails this region has to offer. Today, our blog highlights 7 fascinating trails in Florianópolis that you cannot miss!
1. Lagoinha do Leste trail (via Matadeiro)
We start with one of the most coveted trails on the island! The Lagoinha do Leste Trail takes you on a unique journey through stunning landscapes. Approximately two and a half hours of walking will take you from Costão right from Praia do Matadeiro to the paradisiacal Praia da Lagoinha do Leste. The trail starts in the middle of an exuberant forest that suddenly becomes an undergrowth, especially the Gravatás, of the bromeliaceae family.
Along the trail incredible views of the ocean are revealed. At the end, the surprising view of the isolated beach of Lagoinha do Leste and its charming lagoon await you as a reward.
For adventurers with better physical fitness, we suggest going up to Morro da Coroa. Simply stunning!!!
Recommendation: We divide the route into two stages, Matadeiro-Lagoinha do Leste (one way) and – Lagoinha do Leste-Pântano do Sul (return). This last stage, with the first steep stretch and the second, downhill, is quieter.
Difficulty level: Very difficult
Time: 6 am
Start: Right coast of Praia do Matadeiro
End: Pântano do Sul, on Rua Manoel Pedro de Oliveira.
