A Church of Our Lady of Lapa, Located in Ribeirão da Ilha, it is a true historical and cultural jewel. It was built in the 18th century and is one of the oldest and most important religious heritage sites in the city. Its colonial architecture makes it a treasure for those who want to learn about the history and culture of the region. The interior of the church is adorned with beautiful works of sacred art that impress visitors with their rich detail and careful execution.

Despite having undergone numerous interventions over the years, the church still maintains some of its original characteristics. In 1840, urgent repairs were requested to the church's roof and sacristy, which were almost in ruins. During the visit of Emperor D. Pedro II in 1845, he donated 400 thousand réis, which contributed to new works and repairs in the parish.
