A Itaguacu Beach It is one of the most beautiful seascapes in Florianópolis and it is not difficult to understand why!
With a name that derives from Tupi-Guarani, which means “big head of stone in the water”, the scene that unfolds is exactly that: many stones of various sizes, arranged throughout the stretch of beach, forming a unique look. and stunning.
Located in the mainland part of the city, Itaguaçu beach is a bay sea beach, with a strip of yellowish sand, clear and calm waters, which resemble a lake. The beach is completely surrounded by squares, and has an excellent leisure infrastructure, with many bars and restaurants that attract residents and visitors.
Despite the impeccable infrastructure, it is important to highlight that, as it is an urban beach, its waters are not suitable for swimming.
With a length of 670 meters and a width varying between 3 and 20 meters, Praia de Itaguaçu belongs to the Main District and is just 4 km from the city center. It is a perfect place for a day or night walk, to enjoy the view and enjoy the excellent local cuisine.
Don't forget to also visit Praia das Palmeiras (attached), Mirante da Praia das Palmeiras (right corner of the beach) and Praia do Bom Abrigo.
