A Saquinho Beach, located at the southern end of Santa Catarina Island, is a true natural treasure waiting to be explored. This jewel offers a peaceful, untouched refuge, surrounded by lush native vegetation and towering cliffs.
Access to the beach is only possible via trails, adding an extra dose of adventure to the journey. Surrounded by the beaches of Solidão and Naufragados, the trail begins at the end of the road that leads to Praia da Solidão, a few meters after the bridge over the Rio das Pacas. Along the route, visitors are treated to viewpoints that reveal stunning panoramic views of the region.
Once on the beach, bathers are greeted by crystal clear, calm waters, perfect for an invigorating swim. With just 75 meters of fine white sand, as well as a few dozen meters of rocks, the landscape is unique and stunning.
The name “Saquinho” has Azorean roots, referring to areas protected from large waves or undertows. In geographical terms, it refers to the indentations in the coastline that form small bays and coves.
As it is a remote and preserved location, Praia do Saquinho offers little tourist infrastructure. It is essential to bring food and water to fully enjoy this authentic experience of contact with nature.
