Our Lady of Good Help Sanctuary

Explore the charm of Our Lady of Good Help Sanctuary, a hidden jewel among the mountains of Nova Trento, 525 meters above sea level. This magnificent work, also known as Morro da Cruz, offers a unique experience that combines spirituality, exuberant nature and fascinating history.

As you walk the route to the sanctuary (4.4 km), you will be presented with a stunning panoramic view of the city and surrounding municipalities. Along the way, you will find 14 Via Crucis capitals, providing moments of reflection and serenity. Don't forget to cool off in the natural drinking water fountain you'll find along the way.

At the top of the hill, a centuries-old cross and several historical relics await your visit, bringing with them an aura of mysticism and faith. The history of this sanctuary dates back to 1899, when the Jesuit Father, Luís Maria Rossi, decided to erect crosses on the highest hills of Nova Trento, marking the beginning of a spiritual journey that continues to this day.

The Nossa Senhora do Bom Socorro Sanctuary is more than a place of devotion; it is a space for connection with nature and local history. The statue of Our Lady of Good Help, donated by Countess Clermont de Tonnerre, from France, is a symbol of devotion and gratitude that has enchanted visitors since 1906.
