Lagoa Coast Trail

A Lagoa Coast Trail or as it is also known, Caminho da Costa da Lagoa to Canto dos Araçás, is a trail of approximately 5.75km (Canto dos Araçás to Cachoeira da Costa da Lagoa), lasting 2 hours. The route is considerable and has a light to moderate level of difficulty.

The trail starts 300 meters after the bus stop at Canto dos Araçás, passes through the community of Costa da Lagoa and ends at Praia do Saquinho. The trail route borders the Conceição Lagoon and the entrance to the trail is well signposted, with a portico and information regarding distance, relief, vegetation and degree of difficulty.

The trail is the path of a community, so along the route there are several houses and urban interventions such as sidewalks and stairs. Still on the way there is a mill, located just after Vila Verde (Point 8 of the lake transport) which is around 150 years old and was used to manufacture cassava flour.

In addition to the mill, between Points 9 and 10 of the lake transport system, it is possible to see an old listed mansion, built by slaves, around 1780 (Casarão da Dona Loquinha) and also walk on the so-called kid's feet, some of the oldest pavements in Florianópolis (between Points 4 and 5 of the lake transport system). Irregularly shaped, the stones were juxtaposed by slaves in the 19th century and remain to this day in some sections of the Costa da Lagoa Path.

At the end of the walk, arriving at the community of Costa Lagoa, it is possible to enjoy the various restaurants available along the lagoon.
