Riozinho Cave

Although some stalagmites and stalactites remain, it is notable that many have disappeared over time, possibly due to human influence. The "fauna" that inhabits this enclosure consists of insects adapted to the darkness, forming a unique ecosystem. 

Besides the impressive underground chamber, the Riozinho Grotto is blessed with the majesty of an impressive waterfall, stretching an remarkable 25 meters high. Twelve meters from the grotto entrance and another thirteen meters to the bottom of the valley, this waterfall lends an aura of enigmatic beauty to the entire environment. In the heart of the grotto, an altar dedicated to Our Lady of Aparecida offers a space for reflection and devotion, especially attracting visitors during Good Friday. 

The gentle sound of the waterfall echoes through the cave chambers, amplifying the mysterious aura and natural beauty of the place. The rock walls themselves echo the past stories of the Xokleng and other cultures that once occupied this space. Legends from the ancient inhabitants tell of the presence of human bones, possibly vestiges of the Xokleng practice of cremation.
