Bruna Lucchesi starts the tour for the new album Sling alongside friend and musical partner Helio Flanders, Vanguart's vocalist, in an intimate show coming to Florianópolis this Friday, May 15th, at 8 PM, at the opening of Maglore's show, at John Bull.
On stage, Bruna and Helio present a repertoire that spans songs from Sling, valuing the voices, the silences, the poetry, and the narrative strength of the compositions. The encounter between the artists highlights aesthetic affinities that span contemporary Brazilian song, poetry, and the folk universe, all in a very authentic and energetic way.
Recently released, Sling marks a new phase in Bruna Lucchesi's career, bringing together songs that explore displacements, affections, and the figure of the wandering traveler, in a very well-constructed narrative that represents the moment also lived collectively. The record reinforces the artist's approach to a more organic and imagistic sound, a characteristic present in the collaboration with various artists, poets, composers, and arrangers.
“This tour is born largely from the desire to prolong the feeling of this music on stage, just as we did at the live listening session in São Paulo. The album *Bandoleira* was recorded with a full band, but there's something of the road, of a journey, and of intimate conversation in the raw way the songs can be presented in this duo format,” comments Bruna.
Recognized as the vocalist for the band Vanguart, Helio Flanders also has a career marked by collaborations and original projects that engage with literature, lyrical delicacy, and sonic experimentation.
