Fish Stew: During your stay in Florianópolis, be sure to try the authentic fish pirão, a delicacy that represents the essence of Caiçara cuisine. Made with a harmonious combination of cassava flour and fish broth, this hearty and flavorful dish offers an explosion of flavors that captivates both locals and tourists. It's the perfect accompaniment to any seafood meal, and in many establishments, it's a constant presence in the portions served. 

Mullet: Its fishing season generally occurs between May and August, when the sea waters are most conducive to the migration of these fish in search of warmer waters for spawning. This seasonality makes mullet even more special for locals and visitors, who eagerly await this season to enjoy this traditional and flavorful dish. Here it can be served fried in steaks, baked and stuffed with farofa made from its roe, and scaled. 

Fresh OystersSeafood lovers simply must try the fresh oysters from Florianópolis, which is responsible for almost 801% of the national production and is considered the National Oyster Capital. We even have a festival to celebrate this delicious mollusk! “"Fenaostra"” which will take place in August this year. The neighborhoods of Santo Antônio de Lisboa, Sambaqui, and Ribeirão da Ilha are known for oyster farming, due to the combination of seawater and freshwater in the North and South bays of the island. The variety of dishes is wide, including oysters served... in its natural state, Steamed, au gratin, with vinaigrette, with honey, lemon and cachaça, in risottos, pastries, skewers and other creations from local bars and restaurants, inviting visitors to experience the various ways to enjoy this delicious mollusk. 

OctopusOctopus is another highlight of Florianópolis' gastronomy, present in various dishes that surprise with their flavor and creativity. From grilled octopus with fresh herbs to more elaborate preparations such as risottos and stews, there are options for all tastes.
