1. A dive into history: São José da Ponta Grossa Fortress 

We begin our journey with a trip back in time. A Fortress of Sao Jose da Ponta Grossa, Built in the 18th century to protect Santa Catarina Island, it is a true historical treasure. After renovations and improvements, it is more accessible and interesting than ever. 

Climbing its stone staircases, exploring the old cannons, admiring the sea view, and imagining what life was like back then delights adults and children alike. If the weather gets colder or you feel like burning off some energy, the Muve Indoor It's an amazing option. This trampoline park has areas for everyone: free trampoline, basketball, ninja, parkour, foam pit, and even a "ninja kids" circuit.

3. Connection with nature: Florianópolis Botanical Garden 

Looking for a more relaxed program, but full of greenery and good vibes? The Florianopolis Botanical Garden, Located in the Itacorubi neighborhood, it's a haven in the middle of the city. With its 19 hectares, easy trails, lakes, themed gardens, and even a picnic area, it's ideal for a family afternoon. 

The children run around freely, and the adults take the opportunity to slow down and enjoy the scenery. And, if you're lucky, you might even catch a special event happening there, like the... Mané Culture, which usually takes place on weekends and celebrates local culture with music, workshops and games. 

4. Little Farm 

A Little farm, Located near the entrances to Jurerê and Ratones, this spot is a hit with families with children. It combines a restaurant, animal interaction, a picnic area, and a mini-market with local products. The star attraction is the animal area: rabbits, mini-pigs, goats, a donkey, and even ponies delight the little ones (and the adults too). 

Entry is free, but some activities require an additional fee. The best advice is to arrive early to enjoy everything at your own pace—and with an appetite, as the food is also noteworthy. 

5. Tradition and flavor: Ribeirão da Ilha 

July is the perfect month to visit the most traditional neighborhood in Florianópolis: Ribeirão da Ilha. Its colorful little houses in the Azorean style, the charming little church facing the sea, and the restaurants specializing in oysters create the ideal setting for a stroll that combines history, culture, and good food. 

Take the opportunity to try gratinated oysters, risottos, or moquecas, all very fresh. One restaurant that always pleases is... Azorean Ranch, But there are many options — all with beautiful views of the south bay. 

6. High adrenaline rush: Rafting on the Cubatão River 

If you want to experience a family adventure, full of excitement and safety, go with... Rafting on the Cubatao River, in Santo Amaro da Imperatriz. Located 40 minutes from Florianópolis, the activity is conducted with all necessary safety equipment and experienced guides. 

The course is approximately 3.5 km long, with mild to moderate rapids — great for beginners and children over 10 years old. 

And what if it's raining? Even better! Rafting is one of the few outdoor activities that's even more fun when it rains. 

7. Florianópolis Museum 

Whoever said museums aren't places for children has never visited the... Museum of Florianopolis. Located in the former Town Hall and Jail, right in the city center, the museum features interactive exhibits, technology, and themes that appeal to all ages. 

Totems with games, sensory rooms, and exhibitions make the experience light, educational, and engaging.

  • Monday to Friday: 10am to 7pm (closed on Tuesdays) 
  • Weekends and holidays: 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM

8. See turtles up close: Tamar Project 

Located in Barra da Lagoa, the Tamar project It's one of those experiences that leaves a lasting impression. Besides seeing four of the five species of sea turtles in Brazil up close, visitors also learn about the challenges of conservation and the impact of human activity on the ocean. 

The guided tours take place in the morning and are perfect for children to learn while playing.

Tip: Arrive before 10:30 AM to catch the turtles being fed live! 

9. Adventure on the sand: Sandboarding on the Joaquina Dunes 

July is a great month to enjoy the Joaquina Dunes, where the famous sandboard Or the fun "skibunda" (sandboarding) attracts all ages. Rent a board and try sliding down sitting or standing. 

The view of the dunes is wonderful and makes for incredible photos. Just don't forget your jacket — even with sunshine, the wind can be strong at this time of year. 

10. A different afternoon: Lagoa Coast Trail + Boat Trip 

For those who enjoy walking, the Lagoon Coast Trail It's a must-see. The trail is flat and well-marked, passing waterfalls, ruins, and incredible landscapes. The best part is doing half the way on foot (about 5 km) and returning by boat, with panoramic views of the area. Conceição Lagoon
