



Located in the beautiful city of Rancho Queimado, about 65 km from Florianópolis, the Church of Saint Boniface It was originally built by the then governor Hercílio Pedro da Luz on his farm, at the request of his first wife.
Today, the Church of Saint Boniface is a treasure of the Catholic community of Taquaras, revering Saint Boniface as its patron saint. This sacred place, full of faith and devotion, houses in its cemetery the tombstone of Maria Amida Kammers. The murdered young woman, whose name is associated with miracles, inspired fervent devotion in many hearts. These events sparked the interest of historian Toni Jochem, who undertook in-depth research that may eventually result in a future canonization process for Maria Amida Kammers.
