Imagine yourself traveling to Florianópolis and discovering a true treasure of Azorean and Madeiran history and culture: the Azores House – Ethnographic Museum. This museum is housed in a building constructed in the 19th century, located in the municipality of Biguaçu, just 20 kilometers from the center of Florianópolis.

The Casa dos Açores is one of the most splendid records of the heyday of the Azorean-Madeiran colony in the town of São Miguel and boasts an impressive collection of furniture, clothing, and other items aimed at preserving and studying Azorean culture.

Furthermore, the museum forms a beautiful architectural ensemble together with the Church of Saint Michael the Archangel, The property, including the farm and the arches of the old aqueduct, is managed by the Santa Catarina Cultural Foundation (FCC). It was acquired by the State Government of Santa Catarina in 1978 and underwent restoration to become a museum, which opened on March 4, 1979.
