Welcome to Schoenstatt Pilgrim Mother Shrine, A hidden treasure in the stunning Tijuquinhas, in Biguaçu. This place of pilgrimage and faith is truly extraordinary, and is open to visitors on Sundays and during the exciting state meetings of the Schoenstatt Movement that take place here.

The Beginning of a Dream

The journey towards building the Shrine of the Pilgrim Mother in Biguaçu began on September 5, 2015, when the Schoenstatt Movement received the generous donation of a plot of land that included two houses and a chapel. The main objective of this donation was to create a Shrine dedicated to the Mother Thrice Admirable of Schoenstatt.

A Story of Solidarity and Growth

Between 2016 and 2017, we witnessed a remarkable effort when a solidarity campaign was launched to acquire land adjacent to the one that had been donated in 2015. This expansion was necessary due to the growing number of pilgrims participating in the Schoenstatt Movement's state meetings. Today, our events are held in a temporary tent that can comfortably accommodate 500 people, with sanitary facilities and a complete dining area equipped with a pantry and kitchen.

The Construction of the Dreamed-of Sanctuary

In recent years, the Schoenstatt Movement has dedicated itself to various charitable actions, including fundraising events, bingo games, and community-style coffee gatherings, to raise the necessary funds for the construction of the long-awaited Shrine of the Pilgrim Mother in Biguaçu. This shrine will be a historical landmark, being the first in the state of Santa Catarina, and has already attracted pilgrims from all regions of Brazil and Latin America, especially from Argentina.

The Spiritual Value of Sanctuaries

It is essential to understand that, although there are more than 200 Daughter Shrines of Schoenstatt throughout the world, their importance lies not in quantity, but in the spiritual richness and life that flourishes around each one. Each Shrine is a school of formation for the "new man" and is a place where the Mother of God works transformations in society. From them, thousands of Home Shrines are blessed, and millions of Heart Shrines are sent to make the world a better place.
