A Shipwrecked Trail This is the gateway to the southernmost beach in Florianópolis, located 43 km from the city center. To reach the start of the trail, go to the Caieira da Barra do Sul bus terminal or drive to the Trilha dos Naufragados parking lot (our location is exactly there!). From there, the approximately 3km trail offers an immersion in the lush Atlantic Forest, passing waterfalls and ruins. In about 50 minutes of walking, you will arrive at... Shipwrecked Beach, a natural and historical haven that enchants visitors.
The trail is well-marked and, although it starts with a steep climb, it soon becomes a flatter path surrounded by native vegetation. Along the way, take advantage of the streams to cool off and admire the green tunnel formed by the trees. If you're looking for a panoramic view, continue to... Shipwrecked Lighthouse, Although it doesn't allow internal visits, it offers an incredible view of the island and the mainland. Nearby, you'll also find... Fort Marshal Moura of Shipwrecked with old cannons that reinforce the historical character of the place, marked by shipwrecks and battles.
Important tips: Bring water and snacks, as there are no facilities along the trail. Wear comfortable shoes and, if possible, go early in the morning to take advantage of the daylight and avoid the strong sun.
At the end of the Shipwreck Trail, explore the Shipwrecked Point, from where you can see the Araçatuba Island, where is the Fort of Our Lady of the Conception, built in 1742.
This trail, with an easy difficulty level and well-marked, is ideal for those who want to combine adventure, nature, and a dive into the history of Florianópolis.
