In the heart of the square, a majestic statue pays homage to Celso Ramos, an illustrious son of Florianópolis, who governed the state of Santa Catarina between 1961 and 1966, and served as a senator of the Republic between 1967 and 1975. Around it, you will find one of the four sewage pumping stations that were built in the early 20th century and were part of the capital's first sanitation network, adding a touch of history to the place!
